Temporary

As the wind blows harshly,

I whisper to the dandelion,

“Stay.”

Trying so hard, desperately,

To count the wishes blown

Away.

As the oranges, yellows, reds,

Fall from the branches, I beg

“Freeze.”

Trying to gather the season,

In my foggy breath of the

Breeze.

The words that escape

All too quickly as I try to

Savor.

Our time, your eyes, your touch,

Your smile, all gone like a

Vapor.

The dandelion, the leaves, you

All I would crave forever was

Temporary

I couldn’t hold on, so I hoped

These fleeting memories

Held onto Me.
